Recently, as a commercial photographer, I had the opportunity to photograph a modern and clean office space located at 8 Brewer Street in London. This space has a prime location in the heart of London's Soho neighborhood and is being marketed by Geraldeve, one of the leading commercial real estate agencies in the UK. What makes this project unique is that the office space is located in the iconic Raymond Revuebar, a historic and iconic building with a storied history that dates back to the 1950s.
Previously occupied by Napster, this modern office space is now available to let. In this article, I'll share some background on the Raymond Revuebar, some of my favorite shots from the project, and some insights into my creative process.
First, let me tell you about the Raymond Revuebar! It was founded by entrepreneur Paul Raymond in the 1950s and was one of the first venues in the UK to feature striptease shows. It quickly became a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Over the years, the building has housed a variety of different businesses, including a nightclub, a theatre, and a restaurant. Today, it's home to a bunch of different businesses, including a modern and clean office space on the top floor, which is available to let and is being marketed by Geraldeve.
When I arrived at the office space, I was immediately struck by its clean, modern design. The space has been previously occupied by a tech company, Napster, so, it had a bright and inviting feel, with plenty of natural light and sleek, modern furnishings. I worked closely with the team at Geraldeve to identify the key features of the space that they wanted to showcase in their marketing materials. We focused on capturing the bright, open layout of the main area, as well as some of the more unique design elements as the iconic neon artwork at the façade, during the day and dusk, when it becomes very charming!
As with any commercial photography project, my goal is always to showcase the space in the best possible light while remaining true to its unique design and features. So, I used natural light to capture the bright and airy feel of the space, and I took care to compose each shot in a way that highlighted the most attractive and interesting elements.
Resuming, capturing the beauty and uniqueness of the Raymond Revuebar and the modern office space located inside it was a truly exciting project for me as a commercial photographer. The fact that the space was previously occupied by Napster adds an interesting layer to its history. I hope that the photos we captured will help Geraldeve attract potential tenants who can appreciate the clean and modern design of this prime office space.
