My name is
Joas Souza.

I am an architectural and aerial photographer based in London, UK.

I was born and raised in Bahia, Brazil and began my career assisting my father and mentor Nilton Souza throughout my teenage years, inheriting an appetite for shooting architecture and aerials, a passion that drew me to explore the world’s most exciting urban playgrounds and relocate to London almost two decades ago, where I enjoy full-time residency.

Since going freelance in 2012, I have furthered my mission to honor the extraordinary through my work, revealing the sublime achievements of those who conceive and create ambitious works of art, the architects and engineers who together manifest great structures of steel, stone, and glass.

My incredibly crisp and powerful signature style has caught the eye of businesses and brands who trade on the same kind of premise: that details matter, whether in commercial or residential markets. Mine is a kind of proud perfection that captures the essence of a breathtaking structure and translates it into an image. I have photographed a multitude of iconic structures, including Madame Tussauds, the Barbican, and La Défense in Paris, but can just as easily train my eye on more intimate projects.

In addition to my commercial work, I keep myself busy with a multitude of personal photography projects and parallel businesses, such as my personal image bank, the London Stock Photos and my fine art printing studio, the Image Print Centre. When I’m not behind the lens, you'll find me enjoying every spare minute with my two beautiful daughters, playing and teaching them how to become great human beings.
